Japanese importer Bonilli brought in two barrels of Willett’s 24 year old Bernheim rye. This one was bottled at 110 proof, and the other was bottled at 94 proof. Both are considered to be exceptional ryes, surpassed only by their barrel-proof Willett brothers.
Famed Japanese importer Bonilli brought in two barrels of Willett’s 24-year-old Bernheim rye distilled in 1984. This one was bottled at 110 proof, and the other was bottled at 94 proof. Both are considered to be exceptional ryes but the 110 proof is regarded as the best of them. Affectionately nicknamed “the 24/110” by collectors, this was selected from the same lot of Old Bernheim barrels as the legendary Bitter Truth Rye and Red Hook Rye which is perhaps the greatest Rye Whiskey ever bottled.
