Tequila Tapatio Extra Anejo Excelencia

Cooked agave, vanilla, caramel. Lots and lots of cooked agave and caramel. Maple, and caramel apple, and maybe even apple pie. Surprisingly not nearly as much oak as I expected. Palate: Very rich. Loads of cooked agave and that caramel apple note, but it’s sharp almost like a caramel apple candy, sans artificial flavoring. Lots of caramel and agave, keeps coming up for me. Makes me think of apple pie at times. The agave keeps coming back, but it’s alternating between a very crisp agave that I’m used to in Ocho, and then baked/caramelized agave. Overall: An exquisite tequila, and so much different than the rest of the Tapatio line. I have a soft spot in my heart for Tapatio, it was the first blanco I drank straight and I’ve always had a deep love for as being one of the catalysts for me becoming a tequila lover. Excellent tequila.Limit 1 bottle per person.
