Over the last few years, Lot 40 has garnered quite a following in the Canadian whisky world. Produced by Hiram Walker in Ontario, Lot 40 is pot-still distilled, has no age statement, and is 100 percent rye (90 percent Canadian and 10 percent malted). Its name comes from the original farm whisky, brewed by company forefather Joshua Booth shortly after the American Revolutionary War. Descendent whisky-maker Mike Booth carries on the family tradition with this dried cherry-, toffee-, vanilla-, coffee-, and pepper-filled gem.
