The bottler is Douglas Laing an independent bottler of fine Scotch whisky established in 1948. The concept is to enable whisky lovers around the world a chance to come as close as they can to sampling whisky as it was straight from the cask or having a whisky experience like no other.
The Glenrothes Distillery is an award winning Speyside Single Malt Whisky of exceptional quality. A combination of many factors including unusually slow distillation process in tall copper pot stills deliver a characteristic sweet, fruity and elegant spirit. Each expression has its own unique personality, underpinned by the distinctive, hallmark characteristics of the distillery – ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla and an exquisite spicy finish all encased in the creamiest of textures and with a complex and well-poised balance.
This seven year old single malt whisky was distilled back in January 2013 and set aside to mature in a sherry puncheon. Only 428 bottles were produced at 46% ABV by Douglas Laing Independent bottlers. Part of the always tasty Provenance range.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Orchard fruits of apricot and red apple, dark fruits of plum and raisin, subtle clove and cinnamon spice.
Palate: Espresso, milk chocolate covered digestive biscuits, walnut and malted barley.
Finish: Lingering baking spices and orchard fruits.
