Pittyvaich 1989 Aged 30 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky – 2020 Special Release (700ml)
Volume: 700ml ABV: 50.8% Age: 30 Years Old Country: Scotland
A distillery product which is rarely seen in retail, Pittyvaich has fallen victim to the ups and downs in the whisky marketplace. Only seen annually in the Diageo special release bottling’s this closed distillery’s whisky is now getting harder to find.
Built in 1975 and closed in 1993 the distillery had a short life maturing spirit mainly in ex-Sherry barrels used in Bell’s blended whisky. This ‘ghost’ or closed distillery has now been torn down and the stock are dwindling quickly, might be worth tucking a few bottles away in case they vanish forever.
This Diageo 2020 Special Release was matured for 30 years using first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The Diageo Special Release bottling’s from 2020 have a theme of ‘Rare by Nature’ and the gift tin has a wonderful image of a pheasant or fowl on the front.
Only 7,056 bottles available for worldwide distribution.
